Newlyweds Sing the Blues

Forrest and Kaylon McDonald at Capital Ale House
by Liana Kleeman
He’s rocked and rolled down Sunset Strip with Van Halen. He’s played with rock legends Journey, Alice
Cooper and Edgar Winter. Even Bob Seger used one of his guitar solos. And now Forrest McDonald drops by
Capital Ale House Friday, March 28, for a show with wife and vocalist Kaylon. This duo offers deep
blues with an energetic delivery, Kaylon’s low-hitting vocals crashing against her husband’s let-loose
guitar riffs. He’s been crafting his musical legacy since the late ’60s, winning the Best Southern
Blues Band in Real Blues Magazine three times, but now that he’s got a wife on the stage, he’s got to
change up his game a bit. 5 p.m. Free. 780-ALES.
